Extremely black comedy that was superbly written and cast. Both Gleeson and Farrell develop characters who although are these supposedly cold hearted hitmen you find it impossible not to warm to them and feel compassion for their plight, as they both exhibit a sense of guilt and morality however deluded in the world they partake in. However Bruges plays as much of a role in this movie as the characters as it is a city bursting with culture yet has what appears to be a dark undertone. This provides a rather striking backdrop against the colourful characters eg. the cocaine loving midget, the tourists which we are introduced to. This movie is as tragic as it is funny has as many colourful moments as dark and with various plot twists throws up a number of suprises. A well balanced, well written movie that definetly deserves a look

really dark I think you either love it or hate it, i loved it, its was so politically incorrect at some points, which was refreshing especially in todays society, where it feels like your restricted in everything you say for fear you might upset someone. Farrell was brilliant in this he is a very talented actor and it helps that he's easy on the eye.

black comedy...we can easily get attached to the killers, very good casting.

Most of the time, the content of the dialogues are politically incorrect.
At the same time than the characters, you get to do some sightseeing of Bruges.
Strange world and original movie , you may even feel its universe after the projection of the movie.

Brilliantly sharp screenplay comedy of the blackest kind ... hilarious yet tragic, unpredictable yet conventional, but always involving and surprisingly.
